Before the 1991 Operation Desert Storm, before the 2003 invasion of Iraq, there was the Iran-Iraq war; in the grim darkness of the 1980’s there was only war.
The MegaCon UK 2019 offering to fans of operational military games is the undeniably popular Undeniable Victory megagame. Set during the Iran-Iraq war of 1980-1988, the game pits Saddam Hussein’s Ba’athist Iraq against Ayatollah Khomeini’s revolutionary Iran.
The game captures the confusion of a rapidly developing war and demonstrates the difficulties of managing complex military operations. The unique turn structure will create real time pressure and the use of hidden units bring an element of “Fog of War” to the combat game.
While winning the war is of upmost importance, it is no less crucial to be well-respected by your superiors. Those who disappoint Hussein or the Ayatollah may find themselves out of a job or even a life.
The game covers three tiers of power in both Iran and Iraq: the ruling council, joint HQ and operational commanders.
Roles are heads of the major departments including:

- War Operations
Forming the key liaison between the council and operational players, the Joint HQ contains:
